What is blue?

Everybody interpreted this question different, some more complex than others. I chose to go with a simple idea of picking out 10 words associated with blue. Whilst brain-storming in a group, I got a long list of words that immediately come into your mind.

My final 10 were: cold, icy, whale, peacock, sad, navy, royal, water, baby, and sky.

With these words I researched many existing fonts and created my own typeface for each design, thinking about using different shades of blue and materials to portray each one.
When displaying the final 10 and presenting them with others work on the wall, I wasn't as pleased with the outcome compared to other resolutions for previous briefs. I think I could have maybe represented the words using visual language alone, instead of writing the actual words. However, I have learned from this and aim to experiment with less obvious, more subtle ideas in future, if it fits the brief.
