I am really pleased with my book collection, as I have managed to incorporate my 100 shell photographs but in a much more visually engaging way than just a book of 100 photographs. The mini books have been designed to act as chapters and hold photographs and information about each shell species within the large family of that page. I enjoyed the crafting that went into this idea, but wish I had had a little more time to bind the mini books with coil like the main ring binder. (The mock-up blog post shows this idea.)
I stuck with the idea of aiming it at a wide audience, despite knowing that not everybody will be particularly interested in the subject, they would at least enjoy interacting with the book and perhaps discover an interesting fact along the way. I think by separating the book into 8 mini books, it keeps the reader engaged, instead of turning each page, getting the general idea and not reaching the end.

Woah, I didn't see this when we had the final crits. Should have given yourself a better mark for quality of work in the evaluation, this is brilliant! I'm looking through everyones blogs to see their final books and this is one of the best I've seen, you'll have to let me look through it some time.
Great stuff!
